Pilot Mountain Turquoise

Pilot Mountain turquoise is a highly collectible, hard stone from a small mine in Mineral County, Nevada, active since the 1930s. Prized for its natural durability, it features a rich color palette ranging from light blue to deep forest green, frequently accented by striking dark brown or reddish webbing and distinctive dendrite patterns. 
Because the mine is a small-scale, intermittent operation, the gemstone commands a premium in the jewelry and lapidary trade. The finest stones are traditionally found near the surface (or "grass roots") and take a brilliant, long-lasting polish
